Abstract


This paper investigates the application of virtual classroom in fostering language learner autonomy in the Vietnamese higher education context. It describes the participation of one teaching colleague and twenty students in an action research project. Data sources included a needs analysis survey, semi-structured interviews, and classroom observation. Results indicate that learning English in the environment of virtual classroom enhance language learner autonomy. Implications for professional development for language teachers in Vietnam are also suggested.
