The use of video lectures in teaching and learning foreign languages is a powerful approach with considerable potentials. Videos provided as either a complete guide or an assisting tool have been proven to be able to enhance students’ understanding in general and language learning in particular. The focus of this study is to examine the attitudes of Vietnamese English major student teachers of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education (HCMUE), towards the training of designing video lectures for language teaching and learning and their readiness to implement this approach. The findings indicate a positive perception of the approach from English major student teachers of HCMUE and a strong level of readiness for the implementation of this approach in English language teaching and learning.
