Pharmaceutical ESP Textbook Evaluation in Terms of Its Content

The aim of the study is to determine the appropriateness of this ESP textbook in terms of its content. The textbook evaluation model developed by Hutchinson and Waters (1987) was applied in this study. A mixed research method combining document analysis and a five-point Likert scale questionnaire was used for the conduct of the study. The findings suggested that the ESP textbook generally meets the core requirements of the English course for pharmaceutical students. However, some drawbacks included the lack of pronunciation, listening skills, multi-skill integration, and flexibility. The findings also indicate that topics in the textbook are not up-to-date and uninteresting for students.
