Abstract

Blended learning is defined as a blend of face to face classroom instructions with technology-based delivery that provides our students to help them focus on content like new vocabulary or pronunciations while using their self-paced, online material on their own time. Blended learning is preferred because it not only streamlines the material to fit with differentiation but also personalizes the learning and change teachers’ role as facilitators, supervisors, assessors, organizers and managers of learning activities. Microsoft Office 365 Education is a cloud-hosted application accessed as a service which allows access from anywhere, anytime and from any device. Moreover, the ecosystem of Office 365 Education can create the environment for teacher and student collaboration, communication, regulation, and evaluation. This workshop is designed to support grade 10th English teachers in applying Office 365 Education tools to conduct their own lessons for their students in blended English learning classroom. There are three main parts in the workshop. The first part provides an overview of blended model in teaching ESL. The second part provides the participants an example and a hands-on activity of using Office 365 Education to create blended learning for grade 10th students. The last part justifies the reasons why implementing the Office 365 Education to create the blended learning environment to support grade 10th student is an effective solution to improve the learners’ communicative language competencies.
