Abstract


Pursuant to the Decision No. 987 / QD-DHKTQD dated 25 October 2012 of the Principle of National Economics University, it is regulated that graduated students meet the standard requirements of foreign language outcomes for full time education in credits, applied from Intake 54. National Economics University conducts the outcomes based training program from the beginning of 2015. English Proficiency Test for outcome requirements in National Economics University has become one important form of assessments to measure the cumulative results of student learning. According the results of Advanced Educational Programs students, among four skills tested, it is reported that students have met several problems in doing the actual Listening part. This paper will identify common difficulties students usually meet in this test particularly in Listening through two methods, observation and semi-structured interview. Then, research findings are applied to propose recommended activities for prepared practice in order to help students meet the language outcomes standard in particular, and improve their English listening level in general.
