A review on GlogsterEDU and its potentials in ELT

Abstract


With the explosion of technology, especially the emergence of Web 2.0 tools, English language teaching and learning have undergone some dramatic innovations. ELT teachers now receive more digital supports to make their lessons more attractive and interactive for students. One of the most significant benefits of integrating technology into language teaching is that it can enhance students’ input comprehension and promote their output production. The concept of input enhancement and output promotion through multimedia has attracted increasing attention from language teachers as well as linguistic researchers. In this paper, I will review one of the online applications, namely GlogsterEDU, which can be potentially used by teachers to create multimedia-enhanced input for English classroom as well as by students to produce creative output. Additionally, some theoretical backgrounds will be also discussed to support the ideas of using this tool in ELT.
